Prevention Counseling

HIV Prevention counseling is a non-judgmental, confidential, and goal oriented dialogue between a counselor and a client. This dialogue has the stated goal of helping individuals to evaluate their risk for HIV and develop a plan for reducing that risk. The counselor's job is to help a person to explore the parts of their lives and their behaviors that may be helping to increase their risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV. Resources and referrals may be needed to support the desired behavior change of the client and the counselor works with the client to identify and obtain these resources. To talk to a counselor call: (510) 663-7958
